Founded in 2006, Beantown Tea began as Tea Zone in Somerville, MA, with a simple mission — bring premium-quality teas to local customers at fair prices. The shop quickly became a favorite among tea lovers and was featured in the Boston Globe and Somerville Journal.

In 2011, founder Wen traveled to China, immersing himself in tea production and trade with leading tea masters. Returning to Boston in 2014, he launched Beantown Tea & Spices, expanding the selection of fine teas and spices sourced directly from trusted growers.

Today, every tea we offer is carefully selected, tasted, and tested by our team. Many blends, from herbal infusions to chai, are our own creations — crafted to deliver exceptional flavor, freshness, and a true tea experience in every cup.
